With support of Integrated Seed Sector Development Programme, training on Early Generation Seed (EGS) production technology and seed quality control was conducted from 20 to 23 February 2018. The purpose of training is to enhance capacity of seed farms' staff and seed research farms' staff with seed production and seed quality control. The training mainly focus on EGS of sunflower and pigeon pea crops and to enrich the staff with seed production technology and quality control of those crops. The 12 participants from seed farm (DOA), 8 participants from seed research farms (DAR), 2 participants from seed quality lab (Upper Myanmar), 1 participant from seed quality testing lab (Nay Pyi Taw), 1 participant from WHH and 1 participant from seed division (Head office) were attended the training. The 4 days course covered a brief introduction on hybrid seed production and cultivation practices of sunflower and pigeon pea followed by detailed lectures and hands on sessions on EGS quality seed production, field inspection, pests and diseases management, soil management and post harvest seed operations.
